Numerical solution of General Rosenau-RLW Equation using Quintic B-splines Collocation Method
In this paper a numerical method is proposed to approximate the solution of the nonlinear general Rosenau-RLW Equation. The method is based on collocation of quintic B-splines over finite elements so that we have continuity of the dependent variable and its first four derivatives throughout the solution range. We apply quintic B-splines for spatial variable and derivatives which produce a syste...
متن کاملGalerkin Method for the Numerical Solution of the Advection-Diffusion Equation by Using Exponential B-splines
In this paper, the exponential B-spline functions are used for the numerical solution of the advection-diffusion equation. Two numerical examples related to pure advection in a finitely long channel and the distribution of an initial Gaussian pulse are employed to illustrate the accuracy and the efficiency of the method. Obtained results are compared with some early studies.
متن کاملSolitary Wave solutions of the BK equation and ALWW system by using the first integral method
Solitary wave solutions to the Broer-Kaup equations and approximate long water wave equations are considered challenging by using the rst integral method. The exact solutions obtained during the present investigation are new. This method can be applied to nonintegrable equations as well as to integrable ones.
متن کاملStability criterion for bright solitary waves of the perturbed cubic-quintic Schrödinger equation
The stability of the bright solitary wave solution to the perturbed cubicquintic Schrödinger equation is considered. It is shown that in a certain region of parameter space these solutions are unstable, with the instability being manifested as a small positive eigenvalue. Furthermore, it is shown that in the complimentary region of parameter space there are no small unstable eigenvalues. The pr...
متن کاملMultipole solitary wave solutions of the higher-order nonlinear Schrödinger equation with quintic non-Kerr terms
We consider a high-order nonlinear Schrödinger (HNLS) equation with thirdand fourth-order dispersions, quintic non-Kerr terms, self steepening, and self-frequency-shift effects. The model applies to the description of ultrashort optical pulse propagation in highly nonlinear media. We propose a complex envelope function ansatz composed of single bright, single dark and the product of bright and ...
